It is interesting. If I had commenced this blog a few years ago, it would have been dominated by our dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and fighting the system. It was all I seemed to do/talkabout/live back then, now life meanders along with little explosions of Aspie world every now and again. I no longer wake up and think: "how do we plan our day around his issues?" or "what triggers must I minimise, what situations must we avoid today". Shows how far we all have come. For a diagnosis is not only of the individual, it affects the whole family. The therapy, the stress, the advocating, the tears consume the complete unit from younger sibling to elderly Grandmother.
Now life takes us where it will, with a few curve balls thrown in for good measure. And a lot of laughter, joy, pride and happiness. Life is good.

I feel exactly the same way. Until a year ago, our life was about ASD, and finding a way to make his life easier.
Now, it's just a small part of our life. It's just a small part of him, and truthfully, one I'd be loathe to change.
